Albany Gavin J. Donohue will become executive director of the Independent Power Producers of New York Inc. April 1.

IPPNY is a trade group representing companies that make, market and sell electricity. Its 100-plus members produce about 64 percent of the state's electricity.

Donohue replaces Carol Murphy, who took a job this month at the New York Independent System Operator in Guilderland. She is executive director of government affairs and communications at NYISO, which oversees the state's power grid and electricity market. …
