Fed: CASA bows to cabin pressure alarm
SYDNEY, Feb 7 AAP - Giving way to 16 months of lobbying by air accident investigators,
Australia's aviation watchdog will make cabin pressure alarms mandatory in small aircraft.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) decision comes after last year's doomed
cross-country flight by a West Australian Super King Air plane and in response to recommendations
by accident investigators after a June 1999 incident on an RAAF-operated King Air.
The Australian newspaper said CASA hopes to have the new audible warning systems …
